URKL status, 4 November: the qualifier result and the 16 teams are still unconfirmed, and no group-stage date is published
What is confirmed about URKL (opening night, 32-team field), what rests only on aggregator posts (a 24-25 October qualifier), and what Roboxing checked on 4 November.
As of 4 November 2026, Roboxing cannot confirm that URKL's qualifier has been played, cannot name any of the 16 teams that would advance from it, and has found no published date for the group stage. This page sets out what is confirmed, what is only reported, and what was checked.
WHAT IS CONFIRMED
URKL, the Ultimate Robot Knock-out Legend run by EngineAI of Shenzhen, held its opening night on 16 July 2026 at the Nanshan Cultural and Sports Center. Matador beat White Eagle 3-2 over five rounds; the score comes from two independent Chinese outlets, which is why it is in Roboxing's bout record.
Economic Information Daily (经济参考报), the Xinhua-run newspaper, reported on 17 July that more than 200 teams had registered, that 32 had advanced to the qualifier after a first selection, and that those teams come from China, the United States, Poland and Singapore, including companies, universities and research institutions. The same report says every team fights the same EngineAI T800 and that EngineAI opened the robot's software and body interfaces to teams for secondary development.
WHAT IS ONLY REPORTED
Several aggregator posts on the Chinese site smzdm say the 32-to-16 qualifier ran on 24 and 25 October at 18:30 China time on EngineAI's and URKL's official livestreams. These posts read as machine-generated and cite no official announcement. Roboxing does not treat them as a source for the dates, the format or any result.
Guangzhou Daily's 17 July account, covered in our earlier story, describes a four-city qualifier scored on real-machine deployment. It does not give a result.
WHAT WAS CHECKED ON 4 NOVEMBER
Searches in Chinese and English found no EngineAI post and no mainstream outlet reporting a qualifier result, a list of the 16 qualifiers, or a group-stage fixture.
EngineAI's English YouTube channel, read through its public RSS feed, lists 15 videos. The newest is dated 27 August 2026, and the most recent URKL items are the debut-night videos of 18 and 19 July. Shorts may not appear in that feed, so a newer short cannot be ruled out, and Roboxing has not read EngineAI's Chinese channels or Bilibili. A silent English channel is not proof that nothing happened.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THE SCHEDULE
Roboxing keeps URKL's later rounds listed as announced without dates. No qualifier names will be published here until two independent sources agree. If EngineAI or a mainstream outlet publishes the 16 qualifiers or a group-stage fixture, this page and the URKL league page will be updated.
For fights with dates, the next confirmed event is the UFB Season 2 opener at TwitchCon San Diego, which UFB's schedule lists for 13 to 15 November 2026.
