REK's six-foot league is not a plan — it crowned a champion in August

REK has been fighting six-foot robots since August, and the English-language coverage of this sport did not report it.
REK 2 was staged in San Francisco on 15 August 2026 and billed as America's first six-foot-class robot fight. Two pilots drove league-supplied T800 humanoids of roughly 180 centimetres — the same machine that would appear on this site a month later, when a human boxer fought one in the same city — by handheld controller, in an octagonal cage, over two-minute rounds on a best-of-two format.
It was won by Hiroyuki Osone, a Japanese pilot, who beat an opponent competing as SUSLIKE in the final. Neither of them had driven a T800 before that night. Osone got there on a one-second reprieve: he drew the first round of his semi-final, lost the second, and with a second remaining in the third he put his opponent on the mat for the point that carried him through.
It was his second REK title in two months. He had already won REK Tokyo, in Akihabara, in July — an event this record also did not hold, and which extends the promotion's footprint to a fourth country.
The reason this matters beyond one result is what it does to REK's own story. This site described the six-foot league as something REK's founder Cix Liv had said he intended to build. It was already built, and had already crowned a champion, a month before the only REK event this record contained. That description is corrected today.
What is still missing is the bracket. Neither source gives the number of entrants, the undercard, or a result sheet from REK itself — only the final and the semi-final that produced it. This is a promotion that publishes a list of its past fights, so the gap may close; it is on the open questions page until it does.
A note on how this surfaced, because it is the more useful lesson. Every English source covered the September human-versus-robot fight and none covered REK 2. The Japanese press covered it because the winner is Japanese.
