REK 2.1 playoffs: week 1 closes, but REK has not published results, week 2 dates or a 20 November fight card
REK posted a 'final hours' video as week 1 of its simulator playoffs closed. Top 6 per week advance, 12 in all; no results, week 2 dates or live fight are published.
Hosted on YouTube. Roboxing does not host this video.
REK, the company behind the human-versus-humanoid fight in Las Vegas, spent the last day of the first week of its REK 2.1 simulator playoffs urging players to enter. It has still not published the results of week 1, the dates of week 2, or a live fight card for 20 November.
What REK posted. On its YouTube channel REK uploaded two videos about the playoffs: "REK 2.1 Playoffs" on 31 October (05:12 UTC) and "REK 2.1 Playoffs FINAL Hours" on 1 November (01:18 UTC), according to the channel's feed. The descriptions contain only REK's usual links, including rek.com/sim. We have not verified what the videos show beyond their titles.
The timing. REK's Steam page gives week 1 as 30 October, 8 PM, to 31 October, 8 PM, and labels the zone PST. Taking Pacific time, which was daylight time on those dates, week 1 closed at 03:00 UTC on 1 November. The "final hours" video was uploaded about 1 hour 40 minutes before that. Steam's event listing for the playoffs carries a different end time, 16:00 UTC on 1 November. REK has not said what that field means, so we do not treat it as a deadline.
The rules as published. The top 6 players on the leaderboard each week advance to the next stage, for a total of 12 across two weeks. Players can compete on PC, Meta Quest or iOS via TestFlight. REK describes the prize as the chance to pilot a real robot.
What REK has not published. The week 1 leaderboard and the six advancing players; the dates of week 2; what "the next stage" is; whether the 12 pilots fight on 20 November, against whom, or where; any venue, ticket page or rule set. rek.com pages did not load readable content for us, so absence there is unverified.
What this means for the schedule. Roboxing carries no REK fight on 20 November, because no source says one takes place. REK 2.1 is announced for that date, and the playoffs are the only part with published rules. We will add a fight if REK publishes a card.
REK Sim is a simulator, not remote control of a real robot.
