Interactive Combat League
Robowar
Founded by Art Cartwright in Detroit and running every few months since the summer of 2025.
Human performers climb inside nine-foot piloted mech suits and fire projectiles at each other at twenty rounds a second, in a 572-seat auditorium on 7 Mile Road, behind bulletproof glass. Tickets start around $50 and it sells out. Matchups are city against city — Detroit versus Atlanta.
This is not bipedal humanoid combat and it is filed under a separate class for that reason: a person is inside the machine. It appears on this site because it is the most commercially successful live mech-combat product in the United States, and because the people who like one of these sports tend to like the other.
